Types of coverage associated with homeowners insurance:
- Dwelling: The structure of the house itself
- Personal Property: Your contents inside the home. For example, clothing, electronics, furniture, etc.
- Other Structures: Structures not attached to the home. For instance, detached garages or outbuildings.
- Loss of Use: Coverage that pays for living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable because of a claim. This pays additional living expenses until the home is suitable to move back into.
- Liability: Personal and premises liability.
- Medical Payments: Covers incidental medical expenses for any non-resident's injuries due to an accident on the premises.
- Flood: This coverage is not available on a standard homeowners policy. Flood insurance is written on a separate policy and covers damage to your home due to rising water.
- Scheduled Personal Property: In order to protect your valuables it may be necessary to schedule your jewelry, fine arts, antiquities, firearms and all other collectibles. Ask us about this important feature that is available on your homeowners policy.
